Introduction
The Punjab Police Department has announced the recruitment for the post of Police Constable in the District and Armed Cadre of Punjab Police for the year 2025. Online applications are invited from Indian citizens for direct recruitment to fill vacancies of constables. The recruitment process will include a Common Computer-Based Test (CBT), Physical Screening Test (PST), Physical Measurement Test (PMT), and Document Scrutiny.

Eligibility Criteria
Nationality
The candidate should be a citizen of India, who has not obtained the citizenship/permanent residency/green card of any other country.
Age Limit
Minimum Age: 18 years as on January 1, 2025
Maximum Age: 28 years as on January 1, 2025
Age Relaxation:
- Up to 5 years for Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes (Punjab residents)
- Ex-servicemen can deduct their service period from their actual age (up to 3 years relaxation)
- Up to 5 years for regular employees of Punjab Government or other State/Central Government
Educational Qualification
Constable (District and Armed Police Cadre):
- 10+2 or its equivalent from a recognized Education Board/University.
- For Ex-Servicemen, the minimum educational qualification is Matriculation.
Mandatory Qualification: Candidates must have passed Matriculation with Punjabi as one of the subjects or an equivalent examination in Punjabi language.

Note: Transgender candidates will be treated at par with female candidates for Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT).
Selection Process
The selection process consists of the following stages:
- Stage-I: Computer-Based Test (CBT)
- Paper-I: General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, Mental Ability, and English Language Skills (100 questions, 100 marks)
- Paper-II: Punjabi Language (50 questions, 50 marks, qualifying in nature)
- Stage-II: Physical Screening Test (PST) and Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
- Stage-III: Document Scrutiny
